Fashion Marketing I is a specialized course for students who have a career interest in apparel and accessories marketing. They will learn the basic functions of marketing and how they apply to the fashion industry. Topics include: an overview of the fashion industry, evolution and movement of fashion, career development, merchandising, risk management, promotion, study of color and human physical features for analysis, and textiles. Skills in research, mathematics, and technical writing are reinforced in this course. Marketing simulations, projects, teamwork, DECA leadership activities, meetings, conferences, and competitions provide many opportunities for application of instructional competencies.
